South Dakota requires 16 hours of CE every two years for all license and registration types (including apprentices), with at least 8 hours on the NEC. Up to 8 hours may be taken as Self‑Paced Online; the remaining hours must be completed in a classroom/in‑person setting.
Renew by June 30 in even‑numbered years. Hours from these courses count toward the 8 online hours for your renewal.
